Metal-like performance from a light weight plastic

Polyamide-imide or Torlon(R) pan head screws are one of the strongest and toughest polymer screws available. Having the highest strength and stiffness of any pure thermoplastic up to 275°C (525°F), Torlon screws are geared for the most demanding mechanical and high temperature applications. Torlon pan head screws also have outstanding resistance to wear, creep and most chemicals.

Torlon screws are available in a glass fiber reinforced grade which improves the strength, modulus and creep resistance. Because of the outstanding mechanical properties of Torlon pan head screws, they can be used as a replacement for metal screws some applications.

Torlon screws are available in both metric and standard sizes. Please contact us if you have any questions about Torlon pan head screws, their characteristics and their availability.

Pan head screws made from customer specified polyamide-imide grades are available upon request.

Torlon Pan Head Screw Features and Benefits

Pan head screws are flat on top and rounded on the sides. Torlon pan head screws are ideal for:

  • Small diameter fasteners – especially when the fastener size needed is too small for a wrench.
  • When phillips or slotted drivers are desired. For many high strength specialty alloys, only slotted drives are available.
  • Low torque applications because the drivers don’t offer as much force as a wrench.
  • Large diameter head provides more clamping area.

How Are They Different from Button Head Screws?
Torlon pan head and button head screws have very similar profiles however, button head screws allow for a hex socket driver whereas pan head screws do not.
